So today, I heard there have been serious debates as to whether they should call the strike off amongst ASUU and trust Nigerians, these lecturers have divided into two, the majority (for now) are clamouring for its suspension while the rest are saying they want full implementation before going back.
The schools that voted the strike be called off as at the time of this report are – University of Port-Hacourt, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State University, Delta State University, Federal University of Technology Minna, Ahmadu Bello University, Ekiti State University, University of Calabar, Olabisi Onabanjo University and Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta.
And we have just two schools saying no for now and they are University of Benin and University of Jos.
Although there will be a National Executive meeting which is to hold either on Wednesday or Thursday, then a decision will be taken and the decision will be a result of the Votes cast. Let’s keep praying.
But the big Question is, should ASUU take this offer and another government gets into power, remember that one will come with its own policies, what will they say they’ve achieved after going for a 134 days strike???
Food for thought.
